Two-day training program completed under Atal Bhujal Yojana

Lucknow:  In line with the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister  Keshav Prasad Maurya, the State Rural Development Institute is continuously organizing training sessions for capacity building of officers/employees and people engaged in the successful implementation of various public utility schemes.

In this series, Deendayal Upadhyaya State Rural Development Institute, Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow has organized a two-day residential training program “State Level Training Program on Water Security Plan, Impact on the Community, Climate Change and Sustainability and Role of DPI” under Atal Bhujal Yojana from 09 to 10 October for the concerned Block Coordinators, IEC Experts, Agriculture Experts and District Coordinators.

During this training period, in order to enhance the capacity of all the trainee participants, relevant talks were given by state level subject experts and enlightened government officials on various topics such as concept of Atal Ground Water, conservation, status of the updated scheme, expectations, supervision and assessment, convergence and coordination between various related departments, increasing water use efficiency through refined and upgraded standards, data uploading through mobile app, current challenges and solutions before the activities of Atal Ground Water Scheme, role and challenges of personnel / workers associated with the scheme, impact of awareness related activities at the Gram Panchayat level and encouraging the community through motivational tools etc. and on the occasion of the second day of the training, the closing session was organized under the chairmanship of the Director General of the Institute, Shri L. Venkateswara Lu, (IAS). Director, State Ground Water Department, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Prajapati, presently Project Director, Atal Ground Water Scheme, UP, Dr. Hiralal, Special Secretary, UP Government, Anupam Shrivastava, Executive Engineer, Ground Water Department, UP and Purnima Singh, Deputy Director, UP Academy of Administration and Management, Lucknow were present in the program.

Director General of the Institute, L. Venkateshwar Lu said that there is a need to adopt sustainable ground water management to overcome the problem of ground water depletion. Taking Mission Karmayogi as the basis, he gave a detailed useful lecture on the spirit of loyalty, dedication, honesty and dedication for the execution of the given tasks, in the perspective of the concept of Vedas, Vedanta and sages. Director, Ground Water, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Prajapati, while addressing the participating officers present, said that Atal Bhujal Yojana was started with the support of Government of India and World Bank to solve the problem of ground water depletion. Currently, the 5th year of the scheme is going on.

State Project Coordinator Executive Engineer, Ground Water Anupam Shrivastava said that under this scheme, by identifying the sources of water, the reasons for the depletion of ground water level through village-wise survey, empowerment of institutional institutions and capacity development, preparation of “Water Security Plan” for sustainable ground water management, efforts are being made to reduce the impact of the processes of increasing ground water level with the help of convergence with common objective schemes and public participation.

Special guest Dr. Hiralal ji told the trainee participants that various institutions and government departments are implementing many schemes, which are related to the availability of water. It is the responsibility of all of us that rainwater harvesting should be done in comparison to groundwater conservation and there should be economy in using water for daily consumption and in agricultural field work, priority should be given to those crops which require minimum water.

The training program was organized under the guidance of Additional Director of the Institute, B.D. Chaudhary and he thanked everyone on the occasion of the closing session. In view of the organization and management of the training program, program in-charge Dr. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Director had a special contribution and the stage management was also done by him and as his assistants, Pratimesh Kumar, Research Associate, Dharmendra Kumar, Faculty Member, U.P. Singh, IEC Expert and Yashveer Singh, Subject Expert had a commendable contribution.
